Written Examination Schedule

XRD Written Examination

• Date: Monday, August 17, 2026
• Time: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM

FE-SEM Written Examination

• Date: Tuesday, August 18, 2026
• Time: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM

Examination Requirements

Only those who pass the written exam are eligible to take the hands-on instrument exam. The passing score is 70.

Written Examination Waiver

Students who already hold both of the following certificates issued by the Department of Materials Science are exempt from the written examination:

• SEM or FE-SEM Instrument Certification
• XRD Instrument Certification

If you are eligible for the written examination waiver and wish to participate in the practical certification test, please email the following information before the deadline:

• A copy or photo of your certificate(s)
• Your full name
• Your academic advisor's (PI's) name
